This course is conducted in person at our City Campus (376 Unley Road, Unley Park).

This training has been developed by the Department of Human Services Child Safe Environments team to assist organisations that are providing services to children and young people. It will support staff to recognise, report and respond to children or young people who may be at risk of harm and build their capacity to provide safe environments within the organisation.

Organisations should consider requiring their staff and volunteers that work with children and young people attend a Safe environments training course.

This is the 3 HOUR REFRESH SESSION and will support individuals to understand their obligations under the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 to provide child safe environments within their role in working with or alongside children.

This course a refresher course (3hrs) for people who have previously completed Manual Handling training and are looking to refresh their certificate. It covers safety in terms of transferring and mobility with use of hoists and other aids whilst following the regulations of manual handling.

This course is conducted in person at our City Campus (376 Unley Road, Unley Park) in our well equipped classroom and skills lab facilities.

This course is offered as a Full Day (7hrs) training suitable for people who have not previously completed Child Safe Environments training in South Australia or who have not completed Child Safe Environments training in the last three years.

This course is conducted in person at our City Campus (376 Unley Road, Unley Park).

This course discusses the learning of Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Delving into the importance of client maintenance, such as, healthy eating, insulin management, taking blood glucose levels, hypo/hyperglycaemia events and sick day management, students graduate with a comprehensive ability to care for those with diabetes. 

Epilepsy Awareness and Seizure Support explores the learning of different Epilepsy types. This course focuses on epilepsy management, including, the conditions effect on everyday activities, medication involved, types of seizures and day-to-day management for clients. This course will also detail how to administer Midazolam and the side effects this medication may have on clients.

Our first aid course (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid) is the most recent release and covers an inclusive range of topics to enable people to confidently manage emergency situations and provide a first aid response to someone in need. This course is suitable for both people in the workplace and members of the community and is recognised in all states and territories.

This course covers the following:
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

During this session, you will learn both the theory and the practical application of first aid skills pertaining to most emergency situations. You will learn how to identify signs and symptoms and provide first aid assistance in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Council, ARC guidelines and other relevant Australian national clinical corporations like Safe Work Australia, the National Asthma Council, the Epilepsy Foundation and Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy.

Our highly informative, 7hr face-to-face training session covers all knowledge and practical components of the training. Thorough assessment is completed in-class and under the guidance and supervision of a highly qualified, experienced healthcare professional and accredited first aid trainer who is on hand to provide you with all the first aid support and training assistance you need.

This course is conducted in person at our City Campus (376 Unley Road, Unley Park) in our well equipped classroom and skills lab facilities.

HLTHPS006- Assist clients with medication, describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and provide medication assistance, and complete medication documentation. It also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication.

This unit applies to community services and health workers with authority in their state or territory to assist with the administration of medication.

You will cover elements such as preparing to assist with medication, preparing the client for assistance with the administration of medication, supporting clients with the administration of medication, handling medicine contingencies, completing medicine distribution and appropriate documentation.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation provides the student with skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is suitable for persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

This course is conducted in person at our City Campus (376 Unley Road, Unley Park).
