Creative Kids Art Club

Have fun making this vibrant crab artwork. Use mixed media techniques such as printmaking, painting, drawing and collage. This work is great for developing fine motor skills and is lots of fun to create. 

Inspired by Eastern European folk art, students can create a beautiful Babushka painting on canvas. We’ll learn painting techniques using acrylic paint and finish the artwork with paint pen details. 

Create a box of chocolates from model magic that look good enough to eat! Have fun mixing milk, white and dark chocolate colours. Make some fun shapes and plan amazing decorations to delight your senses.

In this painting project, students will be inspired by contemporary artist Dean Russo. We will create a detailed portrait of a dog. If your student would like to paint their own dog, cat or rabbit, please have them bring in an A4 black and white photocopy of a close-up head shot of their pet, see example attached. We will have images of several dog breeds provided.

Make a stunning coral reef scene from clay. Research the different sea plants and animals and draw your own design. Learn how to cut out, layer and texture the clay shapes to create a relief plaque with lots of detail. Paint with acrylic paints to complete the artwork.

Folk art hearts are created in Mexico as part of local celebrations. Design a page of beautiful hearts with vibrant colours and a variety of designs. Use drawing and painted details to create a gorgeous artwork to take home. 

Have fun painting a penguin in Antarctica complete with icebergs on canvas. Design an individual composition, do some colour mixing with a limited palette and learn painting techniques to create this landscape artwork.

Create a vibrant parrot using painted paper collage techniques, inspired by one of Australia’s favourite contemporary artists, Pete Cromer. Learn about layering and contrast to create this colourful artwork. 

Be inspired by one of Australia’s favourite contemporary artists, Pete Cromer to create a vibrant painted paper collage of a cockatoo. Decide on your own colours and decorations to make your artwork unique. 

Use a fun modelling medium and learn about colour mixing to create a rainbow caterpillar. Mix the primary colours to make the secondary colours of orange, green and purple. Compile the colours to make a colourful caterpillar!

Join us for a fun filled art program and explore the joys of drawing and watercolour with a range of different projects. Learn the techniques that artists use to create variety, texture and highlights. We will be looking at the landscape in term 2, beginning with drawings and watercolour artworks of trees and river scenes. Learn about perspective with a work inspired by artist Bernard Boutet de Monvel on A3 watercolour paper.

Friday mornings starting 26 April to 14 June from 10.30-12.30pm for 8 weeks at our Mount Pleasant location. All supplies as well as tea and coffee is included. 

Join us to create three different acrylic paintings on canvas. Begin with a Van Gogh inspired landscape. Expand your acrylic painting techniques to paint a monstera pot plant and a kookaburra inspired by Grotti Lotti.
