Creative Kids Art Club

Art classes run for 10 weeks during the school term. Classes start on 15 July until 16 September 2024.

Have fun painting a penguin in Antarctica complete with icebergs on canvas. Design an individual composition, do some colour mixing with a limited palette and learn painting techniques to create this landscape artwork.

Create a vibrant parrot using painted paper collage techniques, inspired by one of Australia’s favourite contemporary artists, Pete Cromer. Learn about layering and contrast to create this colourful artwork. 

Be inspired by one of Australia’s favourite contemporary artists, Pete Cromer to create a vibrant painted paper collage of a cockatoo. Decide on your own colours and decorations to make your artwork unique. 

Use a fun modelling medium and learn about colour mixing to create a rainbow caterpillar. Mix the primary colours to make the secondary colours of orange, green and purple. Compile the colours to make a colourful caterpillar!

Learn about French Naïve artist, Henri Rousseau and create a jungle inspired scene with layers of clay. Create a drawing and transfer it to make your clay pieces. Learn the process as you cut and assemble your artwork and paint to complete.   

There will be a lunch break around 12:30pm. If children can bring a nut free lunch and a water bottle. This will be supervised by the teacher.

Have fun with tissue paper and water to create a turtally awesome colourful turtle collage. Learn about shapes and draw a detailed turtle shell. Develop cutting and pasting skills to make this sweet turtle collage. 

Explore the creatures of the deep with our Humpback whales and Whale shark watercolour workshop. Create works on A3 paper and try out drawing and painting techniques to add depth to the artwork.   

Create this sweet ladybird in clay. Learn some clay modelling techniques including how to add texture. We’ll paint the clay ladybird with bright red and add contrasting black spots. Complete the project with a ladybird drawing. 

Fine tune your drawing and painting skills with this detailed Monstera houseplant painting on canvas. We will use acrylic paint to add colour to our image after drawing an outline. Art terms, tints and shades will be mentioned and how to incorporate them.

Join us for a fun filled art program and explore the joys of drawing and watercolour with a range of different projects. We’ll look at sweet treats inspired by USA artist, Wayne Thiebaud. Create some 3D lollipops with fun sculpture medium, Model Magic. We can mix colours and develop fine motor skills to create these fun and tasty-looking lollipops.

Japan is well known as the home of sushi. We will learn about the different types and create up to six different sushi models. Kids will learn 3D sculpting and modelling techniques to create each type. These look good enough to eat and will be presented in a take home box with chopsticks provided!
